On February 13 and 14, four youth from AMIkids Y.E.S. participated in a two-day marine education program hosted by the AMikids Boatyard in St. Petersburg, FL. The 4 youth and 2 staff had the opportunity to try scuba diving and explore the estuaries through a fishing experience.

AMIkids Y.E.S. is a private nonprofit, staff-secure residential facility in Wimauma, Florida. The program operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, serving kids who have committed a variety of non-violent offenses and are involved with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. The "YES Boys" live in dormitories on campus in a remote location, which is ideally structured to help them work through their issues and gain the needed skills to return to their families and communities.
