Recently U.S. Navy Officers visited our young people at AMIkids Pensacola to show their support of our program and mission and spoke to the kids about making goals in life and the importance of working toward those goals. They were actively engaged with the kids and highlighted different options in life, while giving advice about opportunities in the military if our kids chose to pursue a career there.
AMIkids Miami-Dade recently partnered with the Department of Highway Transportation and Safety Mobile Unit to provide seven of our students with photo identification and voter registration cards.
"I've never won anything before, and this is 1st place!" This was the reaction of an AMIkids Emerald Coast student who is battling autism as he was in awe while admiring his 1st place award. This one example epitomizes the power of the AMIkids Experiential Challenge events, and why they are so important in the development of our kids and their transformation to positive young people with a bright future.
Legislators from several states learned about AMIkids and recently visited AMIkids Beaufort as part of the National Conference of State Legislatures. The group visited the program as part of their Juvenile Justice Model Site Visit hosted by Senator Michael Fair.
Melbourne Center for Personal Growth Board Chair Don Herndon took the boys out to attend the U.S. Navy's Blue Angels Performance at the Annual Melbourne Air & Space Show at the Melbourne International Airport.
