Gov. Jay Nixon today announced that $1 million will be available for the nationally recognized non-profit organization, AMIkids, Inc., to implement a pilot program in St. Louis assisting at-risk youth access education, counseling and employment opportunities.
AMIkids, a nationally-recognized, nonprofit organization helping troubled young people discover their potential, was awarded a $5 million 3-year grant from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Face Forward Initiative. This grant is the second awarded to AMIkids by the U.S. Department of Labor to provide vocational education and job placement to kids to support a brighter future.
AMIkids Inc., a nationally-recognized, nonprofit organization that helps young people with a troubled past discover their potential, was named the overall winner of the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2015 Nonprofit of the Year awards. AMIkids also received a $10,000 donation from SunTrust as the overall award winner.

AMIkids White Pines announces that it has been awarded funding to develop vocational training and job placement programs provided by the grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor to AMIkids earlier this year. The training will provide AMIkids White Pines students the certifications and tools they need to be job-ready when they complete the program, qualifying them for immediate employment.
