AMIkids was awarded a $5 million 3-year grant from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Face Forward Initiative. This grant is the second awarded to AMIkids by the U.S. Department of Labor to provide vocational education and job placement to kids to support a brighter future.
As part of its Experiential Education curriculum, which allows our students to experience learning opportunities and life skills outside of the classroom, our Center for Personal Growth kids at AMIkids Pinellas have been building an urban garden.
The AMIkids Dive Challenge took place from July 20-23, 2015 and provided life-long memories for the kids that earned the privilege of attending. Thanks to the generosity of The Hartwell Foundation and Judge Curtis Calloway, students from 13 AMIkids programs were rewarded for rigorous work developing into responsible, productive members of their community as they earned SCUBA certifications in the beautiful waters off the Florida Keys.
AMIkids Inc., a nationally-recognized, nonprofit organization that helps young people with a troubled past discover their potential, was named the overall winner of the Tampa Bay Business Journal's 2015 Nonprofit of the Year awards.
The first construction project at AMIkids Miami-Dade North is complete!! Supported by the Fisher Island Philanthropic Fund and Spearheaded by our Construction Instructor Mr. Dave, several students in the Construction class worked on the ramp demolition and rebuilding project at the North Campus.
