AMIkids Jacksonville

Helping Jacksonville area kids discover their potential since 1973.

Our Story

Our Program

Founded in 1973, AMIkids Jacksonville is a private nonprofit, staff-secure day treatment facility in Jacksonville, Florida. Our program operates during regular school hours, serving both boys and girls who have committed a variety of non-violent offenses and are involved with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. Our staff works together with our kids and their families to address issues both in the home and in the student's neighborhood and help our kids to work through their issues and gain the needed skills to return to their families and communities.

The AMIkids Day Treatment program has proven to be so effective, that it has been recognized by both the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) and the U.S. Department of Justice as an evidence-based model that makes a difference in the lives of children and communities. In fact, the OJJDP designation officially made AMIkids the only rated Day Treatment program in the nation working with at-risk youth according to the Department of Justice criteria.

AMIkids Jacksonville uses the evidence-based, research-driven AMIkids Personal Growth Model © in offering dynamic programs and comprehensive services to treat each kid's unique issues, primarily focusing on education, behavior modification, and treatment.

Since 1973, AMIkids Jacksonville has helped over 5,000 kids transform their lives and despite averaging over five arrests prior to enrolling in our program, 72% of our kids do not re-offend within the first year of completion.
