We are pleased to announce that Lee Hutton has joined the AMIkids family as a Facilitator for Yacht Donations. Welcome Lee!
A yacht broker by trade, Lee started his career in 1994 and has been in the industry for over 25 years. Lee's yacht brokerage experience includes renowned firms such as Marine Max, Galati Yacht Sales, and Denison Yacht Sales.
Lee's impressive knowledge of the brokerage community, experience as a marine surveyor, and valuable boat operator skills are a fantastic fit for a Facilitator role with AMIkids. A Bachelor of Sciences from USF, Lee also has a very proficient understanding of finance and accounting, a fundamental skill when dealing with donors and their charitable contributions.
AMIkids Yacht Donation Facilitators are responsible for securing and developing yacht donations by successfully walking the central listing agent, owner, or other decision-makers through the donation process.
After a donation is secured, facilitators are responsible for supervising the restoration/improvement of the vessel. This portion involves suggesting what should be improved, potential vendors or alternatives, traveling to oversee execution, etc. Lee's 3 year experience as a marine surveyour will certainly come in handy for this part of the job.
Once the improvements are complete, facilitators work with the brokerage community to sell or lease the yacht.
A key component of a facilitator's position is to prospect and develop relationships and cultivate boat donors, lessees, and marine industry professionals into advocates for our mission to help vulnerable kids.
As a 100 ton master with commercial assistance towing endorsement, Lee will also be a valuable asset for our marine education program, especially during the annual presidential dive challenge in the Florida Keys.
