On April 14th 2015, AMIkids Greater Fort Lauderdale had an AMIkids Youth Success Day between 4:30 and 6:30 pm. The Chief Probation Officer (Cassandra Evans) of Circuit 17/Broward County, contacted the program director, Luis Ceruti and stated she wanted to celebrate the graduates from the past 12 months. Ms. Evans bought each youth a $10 Subway gift card and gave them all a certificate and congratulated them on their achievement. There were approximately 20 Juvenile Probation Officers in attendance, the guest speaker (Reverend Anderson) who preached to them about choices and moving forward with life and staying on the sidewalk and off the streets. There was also three or four local providers in attendance supporting the youth.
At the end of the event one of the graduate’s moms’ thanked the staff at AMIkids and the DJJ staff for giving all of our kids a second chance at life. Ms. Evans stated that she is looking forward to the 2nd Annual AMIkids Youth Success Day!
