The AMIkids Marine Technician Apprenticeship offers a unique, no-cost opportunity to build a hands-on career in the thriving marine industry. Through a powerful blend of expert-led classroom theory and paid on-the-job training, you’ll master real-world skills under the guidance of experienced journey workers in supportive, small-group settings. Your safety is a top priority, with OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications included in the program.

What You’ll Learn:
- Service, diagnose, and repair marine mechanical systems
- Disassemble and reassemble engines
- Inspect boats, motors, and hulls
- Replace defective mechanical parts
- Develop customer service skills for repairs

- First Aid/CPR
- OSHA-30 Certification
- OSHA HAZWOPER-40 Certification
- Forklift Certification

Program Details:
- Duration: 6,000 hours (approximately 36 months)
- Instruction: 150+ hours of classroom and hands-on training per year
- Training Methods: In-person, web-based, and shop work

Apprentice Qualifications:
- Ages 16-24
- High school diploma or GED required for those under 18
- Able to lift 50+ lbs
- Valid driver’s license (or working towards one)
- Basic reading and writing skills in English
