Our Story

Empowering young people to discover their potential

AMIkids Pinellas is creating new possibilities for young people in foster care across Pinellas County.

Our program provides a safe, supportive place for youth ages 11–21 to learn, grow, and discover their potential. Through education, life skills, workforce development, and meaningful experiences, we help young people build the confidence and skills they need to take their next steps with purpose.

By bringing together AMIkids’ expertise in Positive Youth Development, behavior skills training, and relationship building with Family Support Services’ case management experience, we provide a holistic approach centered on each young person’s strengths, goals, and potential.

At the heart of our program is a simple belief: young people thrive when they have someone in their corner. Through genuine relationships, supportive connections, and opportunities to succeed, we empower young people to believe in themselves, discover their path, and believe I CAN.

Services

What We Offer

COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS

Community-based programs offer daily services to youth and families, with youth returning home each day if programming takes place outside of the home. We offer eight unique services with our community-based programs.

Alternative Education

Alternative Education programs are designed to help students who require additional support typically not available in traditional schools. Students in attendance benefit from academic remediation, positive behavioral skills development, and individualized attention to succeed. AMIkids Alternative Education programs include Infinity Schools, School-within-a-School, and Charter Schools, which operate according to the school district schedule.

Pre-apprenticeship (Career Exploration, Workforce Development)

Pre-apprenticeship programs prepare students aged 11-21 for successful careers, offering industry training that is aligned with each community’s needs for skilled workers. With a combination of academic, technical, and job readiness courses and individualized case management, AMIkids prepares and places students into higher education, jobs, and apprenticeships.
