We believe in the power of transformation – every young person has the potential for greatness, and we’re on a mission to unlock it.

Our purpose is clear: We empower young people to discover their true potential. For more than 55 years, AMIkids has empowered over 172,000 young people across the country by guiding young minds and fostering confidence and a belief in success. Our holistic approach to serving youth combines education, workforce development, treatment, and behavior and skills training.

Programs and Services

Youth discover their potential every day at AMIkids

AMIkids offers a wide range of programs and services across the nation designed to provide the extra support youth need to discover their true potential. Our programs and services are organized into four main categories:

Community-based Programs, Residential Programs, Program Enhancements, and Service Coordination.

Community-based

Community-based programs offer daily services to youth and families, with youth returning home each day if programming takes place outside of the home. We offer eight unique services with our community-based programs.

Residential

Residential programs operate 24 hours per day, seven days per week, with youth residing on campus. Staff implement trauma-responsive programming to help youth develop skills for successfully transitioning to community settings and/or the home environment.

Program Enhancements

Program Enhancements services may be provided as standalone or supplementary to a program.

Service Coordination

AMIkids provides regional service coordination for the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice as part of their transformation initiative. In our role as a service coordinator, we work with local or state agencies to develop and manage a continuum of community-based and residential services from subcontracted direct service providers.
