This program prepares young adults for meaningful careers in high-demand skilled trades while helping them build the confidence, skills, and experience needed to enter the workforce.

Participants receive a combination of technical training, job readiness instruction, and individualized support designed to meet their unique needs and goals.

Our Story

EMPOWERING YOUNG PEOPLE TO DISCOVER THEIR TRUE POTENTIAL

AMIkids Charlotte empowers young adults to discover their potential, build meaningful careers, and create stronger futures for themselves and their communities. Through our Workforce Development Program, we serve young adults ages 16–24 who are ready to take the next step toward long-term employment and personal success.

Our program combines hands-on training in high-demand skilled trades including construction, electrical, plumbing, and masonry with job readiness development and individualized support. Each participant receives personalized guidance aligned with their strengths, interests, and goals.

We recognize that success requires both skills and support. That is why we provide mentoring, case management, transportation assistance, counseling referrals, and connections to community resources that help remove barriers and support progress.

Participants gain the confidence, experience, and practical tools needed to pursue sustainable careers and lasting independence.

The Workforce Development Program is provided at no cost to participants and may include stipends for successful completion.

What We Offer

AMIkids Charlotte’s Workforce Development Program provides job training and supportive services for young adults ages 16–24. The program serves individuals who are ready to build skills, gain work experience, and prepare for long-term employment in high-demand skilled trades.

Participants receive a combination of hands-on training, classroom instruction, and individualized support designed to prepare them for meaningful careers and long-term success.

Here’s what participants will gain:

  • Vocational Training
    Choose from in-demand skilled trades including construction, electrical, plumbing, and masonry.
  • Job Readiness Skills
    Build workplace success skills including resume writing, interview preparation, communication, and professional development.
  • Supportive Services
    Access mentoring, case management, transportation assistance, counseling referrals, and connections to community partners who help remove barriers to success.
  • Stipends
    Earn incentives for participation and successful completion of program milestones, including up to $300 upon completion.

There is no cost to participate in the program, and all training and services are provided at no cost to participants.

The program combines structured learning with hands-on experience and ongoing support to help young adults build confidence, skills, and career pathways.
