While our offices are located in Durham, Morganton, Wilmington, and Winston-Salem, we provide in-home, individualized, respect-based Functional Family Therapy to young people and their families in all counties across North Carolina. Our Story

EMPOWERING YOUNG PEOPLE TO DISCOVER THEIR TRUE POTENTIAL

At AMIkids North Carolina Family Services, we are more than a counseling program—we are a force for growth and support. Dedicated to strengthening families and communities across the state, we bring evidence-based Functional Family Therapy to those who need it most. With offices in Durham, Morganton, Wilmington, and Winston-Salem, we serve families where they live, addressing family dynamics and empowering young people and their caregivers to build stronger, healthier families and communities.

Services

What We Offer

COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS

Community-based programs offer daily services to youth and families, with youth returning home each day if programming takes place outside of the home. We offer eight unique services with our community-based programs.

  • Family Services

Family Services provide home-based skills-building and/or family counseling and intervention using evidence-based practices. Family services may include program models such as Functional Family Therapy. Family Services programs last approximately two to six months.

PROGRAM ENHANCEMENTS

Program Enhancement Services may be provided as standalone or supplementary to a program.

  • Functional Family Therapy (FFT)

These services are provided in-home with youth and their family, for an average of 12-16 sessions over three to six months and is a strengths-based and research-driven model that reduces risk factors and increases protective factors for youth and families.
