Nancy Loehr is a dynamic and accomplished business leader whose career demonstrates a strong dedication to customer engagement, community impact, and organizational excellence. With extensive experience in consumer affairs, utility operations, community relations, employee engagement, partnership development, economic development, and strategic planning, she brings a well-rounded perspective to her role as National Chair of AMIkids.
Known for her exceptional problem-solving skills and steady, customer-focused approach, Nancy is recognized for her ability to bring people together and resolve complex challenges diplomatically. She is an active listener with a unique talent for understanding situations from the customer’s perspective, fostering trust and collaboration, and developing long-term solutions. Her passion for developing talent, fostering inclusive environments, and supporting emerging leaders has consistently led to increased performance, stronger engagement, and meaningful organizational growth.
Nancy spent most of her career in the electric utility industry, beginning in Florida with Florida Power, Progress Energy, and what is now Duke Energy. Her work primarily focused on the customer side of the business, including customer engagement, community and government relations, and strategic planning for both small and large business customers.
As Managing Director of Customer Empowerment Strategy, Nancy developed customer value propositions for underserved residential and unassigned business segments. She crafted and implemented strategic plans that improved satisfaction and boosted earnings. During the pandemic, she led a company-wide initiative supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged customers across seven states, helping thousands of families maintain access to essential electric services during a critical time.
As General Manager of Small/Medium Business Strategy, Nancy developed the company’s first customer-focused app and created engagement strategies for more than 465,000 small and mid-sized businesses. Under her leadership, her team strengthened customer relationships and advanced company priorities related to technology, satisfaction, and growth.
Nancy also served as the Director of Large Account Management for Florida, where she enhanced engagement and satisfaction among the state’s largest and most complex clients. Earlier in her career, she held positions in operations and community development, overseeing regional policy, government affairs, economic development initiatives, and long-term municipal business planning.
Nancy, a Florida State University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Sciences, is a proud native of Florida who now splits her time between Florida and North Carolina. When she’s not working, she enjoys golfing and spending time with her three dogs.
Nancy has a long history of community leadership, having served as Chair of the Gulf Beaches of Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce and the Morean Arts Center. She has also served on the boards of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce, the St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership, the Tampa Downtown Partnership, the Manufacturing Association of Florida, and the Suncoasters of St. Petersburg.
Today, Nancy brings her passion for youth empowerment and strong organizational leadership to her role as National Chair of AMIkids, where she is committed to supporting the mission, improving local programs, and ensuring every young person has the opportunity to reach their potential.
